Fishing

PDF Print E-mail

Fly fishing is popular in the warm months, and in the winter there is ice fishing. Fish can be kept or caught and released back into nature. After a big catch, we often cook up a fish fry in the main kitchen. The most common catch is trout and it's also possible to catch catfish, walleyes, and cutthroat trout.

Fishing equipment is available at the ranch, or bring your favorite fishing pole from home. State fishing licenses are required for 12 and older, and they can be obtained when you get to Wind Walker. Our forest permit provides our ecovillage and guests with access to over 70 lakes and hundreds of streams and rivers. We also provide fishing lessons for those who have less experience.
